Meet our previous athletes
Over the years we have coached many athletes who have gone on to achieve incredible things.
Eden Francis
Eden was the first British (male or female) athlete to win the discus event at the European Athletics U23 Championships, winning in Kaunas, Lithuania in 2009. This also represented Britain's first ever gold medal for a female discus thrower at European, World or Olympic level. Eden also won the European winter throwing cup, twice, in the discus. She has been British champion eleven times. She was also the British under 20 record holder in the discus.

Elliott Powell
Elliott has represented Great Britain in the 200m and most impressively won a silver medal at the European U20 Championships.

Laura Samuel
Laura Samuel competed in the triple jump. She has a personal best of 14.09m, which ranks her third among British women. She was the silver medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and also the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics.

Tamara Longwe
Tamara represented Great Britain at the Loughborough International in 2008 in the triple jump and has a personal best of 12.23m.
Denae Matthew
Denae represented Great Britain at the Loughborough International in 2006 in the triple jump and has a personal best of 13.08m.

Callum Priestley
Callum specialised in the sprint hurdles, debuting success when finishing third in the 60 metres hurdles at the UK Indoor Championships. He followed this with second place finishes outdoors at the England U23 Championships and the UK World Trials/National Championships. At the 2009 European Athletics U23 Championships he won the bronze medal running a personal best time of 13.63 seconds.

Grant Baker
Grant represented England and Great Britain on numerous occasions in both the 400m and 800m.

Somto Eruchie
Somto represented both England and Great Britain in the 200m with his greatest achievement coming when he brought home the silver medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Australia.

Carl Southam
Carl competed in the 400m at the World Junior Championships and has a personal best of 46.59.
Lisa York
Lisa York is a former middle and long-distance runner. She competed in the women's 3000 metres at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, where she ran a lifetime best of 8:47.71 in her heat, to narrowly miss the final.

Maxine Newman
Maxine Claire Baker, née Newman, is an English former middle-distance runner. She represented Great Britain in the 1500 metres at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Glenys Morton
Glenys represented England in the long jump and has a personal best of 6.33m. Glenys then went on to coach some of Leicester’s best athletes to international level.

Diana Davies
Diana Clare Davies competed in the high jump for Great Britain. Her personal best of 1.95 metres set on 26 June 1982, at a meet in Oslo, Norway, stood as the UK national record until 2014. She competed at two Olympic Games, reaching the final on both occasions. In Los Angeles 1984, she finished in 9th place (1.88 m), while in Seoul 1988, she finished 8th (1.90m).

Brenda Flowers
WAAA and National championships gold medallist in the high jump clearing a height of 1.85m in 1977.

Chris Monk
Monk became the National Champion in 1973 after winning the British AAA championships in the 200 metres. In 1973 he was the European Cup winner in the 200m. He represented England in the sprint events, at the 1974 British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Shirley Clelland
Shirley Anne Clelland was a combined events athlete who competed for England. She won the pentathlon silver medal at the 1969 Women's Amateur Athletic Association Championships and recorded three top-7 finishes at the 1970 Commonwealth Games and World University Games.
